The Home Information Pack (HIP)

All residential properties are now required to instigate a HIP when marketing is undertaken. The Home Information Pack (No 2) Regulations 2007 set out the provisions on the compulsory (required) and optional (authorised) content of the pack.

The required documents are:

Energy Performance Certificates in Surrey

From 14 December 2007, any home owner who wants to sell their property with 1 or more bedrooms has to obtain a Home Information Pack (HIP). By law the HIP has to contain an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) compiled by a Domestic Energy Assessor. This document gives homebuyers and sellers an indication (or rating) of their homes energy efficiency and carbon emissions. It gives them current average costs for heating, hot water and lighting in the home as well as advising how to cut costs with energy efficiency measures.
